Topic: HR Ergonomics

Join us for our upcoming Professional Development meeting in-person at the Tower Place in Monroe. Lunch is included.

We all know for many employees, home is the new office.  Ergonomics is the science behind the design of products, work spaces and technology to optimize employee productivity and efficiency. Practicing proper workplace ergonomics is essential. A lack of proper ergonomics is linked to work-related injuries. OSHA reports, “$1 of every $3 spent on workers' compensation stems from insufficient ergonomic protection.”

Workplace injuries waste company time and increase employer costs. Incorporating small changes and minor adjustments in ergonomics can save employers direct costs and as a result, create a healthier, happier work environment for employees. HR Ergonomics professional development session will provide attendees an overview of the science of human anatomy in relation to workplace design with the ultimate goal to reduce daily discomfort, physical stress and employee fatigue.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Review musculoskeletal structures involved in postural support.
  • Identify risk factors associated with working from home related musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Discuss basic practices to help eliminate working from home related musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Discuss Vestibular health and dynamic balance and its relationship to poor ergonomics in the workplace.
