The Importance of Building Resilience in the Workplace

This workshop will focus on the importance of resilience in the workplace, how employers can use workplace resilience to improve the culture of the work environment and strengthen the mental health and well-being of employees. During this session, participants will learn:
  1. The meaning of resilience as defined by the American Psychiatric Association’s Center for Workforce Mental Health, its influence on the work environment, and how it is associated with greater job satisfaction, work happiness, organizational commitment, and employee engagement.
  2. The five ways to boost resilience in the workplace which include but are not limited to employee understanding, leadership engagement, and planned resilient training session within small workgroups.
  3. The positive impact of a resilient workforce and how that same workforce can improve its own self-esteem, sense of control over life events, sense of purpose in life, and improved employee interpersonal relationships.
